Dr. Erica Yuan graduated from Xi’an Medical University in 1999. After three years of clinical work, she studied at Xinxiang Medical College from 2002 to 2005 and got her master’s degree. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Neurology from Central South University in 2008. Dr. Yuan completed her residency in neurology at Xiangya Hospital Central South University and Beijing Haidian Hospital.
Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Yuan worked in the neurological department of Beijing Haidian Hospital (Beijing Haidian Section of Peking University Third Hospital), where she developed expertise in managing common diseases and critical diseases in neurology. She is well versed in diagnosing and treating headaches, sleep disorders, cerebrovascular diseases, central nervous system infection diseases, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, peripheral neuritis, and neuromuscular diseases.
Dr. Yuan is very familiar with common neurological procedures and the analysis of neuro-psychological issues, cognitive function scale screening, and electroencephalography and polysomnography. Dr. Yuan developed the Headache Clinic and Sleep Disorder Clinic at Beijing united Family Hospital and has extended experience in these fields.
Dr. Yuan has published many research papers and been awarded scholarships for short-term study aboard. From May 2006 to October 2007, Dr. Yuan worked in the Brain and Cognitive Function State Key Laboratory at the Chinese Academy of Science and completed research on the early onset of genetic Parkinson’s disease. She published her research paper in international brain research journals.
Dr. Yuan speaks Mandarin and English.
