Biography

Dr. Yanling Zhao received her medical degree from Capital Medical University in 1983 and was later awarded a medical master’s degree in 1995 from the same institution. In 2002, she received her doctorate in Otolaryngology (a medical specialty that covers the ears, nose, throat, neck, and head) from Fudan University. Dr. Zhao underwent her residency in the otolaryngology department of Beijing Tongren Hospital from 1983-1988, where she rotated through inpatient and outpatient wards and developed expertise in managing clinical conditions of the ears, nose, and throat and honed her surgery skills.

Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Zhao worked in Beijing Tongren Hospital as the Head of Pharyngology and as a medical professor. In this role, she was mainly engaged in the treatment of otology- and facial-neurosurgery-related diseases. She also set up a sleep study lab at this facility in 1997.

Dr. Zhao has over 30 years of clinical experience. In addition to specializing in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases of the ears, nose, throat, and facial nerves, she has also completed a fellowship in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) medicine at Fudan University. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zhao is published in prominent medical journals, including the American Journal of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Zhao is a member of the Chinese Medical Association.

Dr. Zhao speaks Mandarin and English.
