Traditional Chinese Medicine

As an integrative and complementary option for medical care, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can work together with evidence-based medicine to serve your overall healthcare needs. The Traditional Chinese Medicine Department at Beijing United Family Hospital and Clinics (BJU) is staffed by an experienced, bilingual TCM team. Our TCM physicians integrate western-style, evidence-based medicine with TCM treatments, providing holistic healthcare services for each patient’s unique needs. Our services include herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, and holistic healthcare counseling.

We offer holistic healthcare by examining the whole body, and offer systemic – rather than simple symptom-specific – treatments. By aiming to boost the patient’s immune system and enhancing the ability to self-regulate their internal environment, our TCM practitioners improve and restore health. To do this, they utilize a variety of techniques and therapies. TCM has proven helpful in diagnosing and treating “sub-health” conditions, or the “gray-state” of health between full-blown illness and health. TCM can also aid in the treatment of ear/nose/throat (ENT) disorders, cancers, kidney diseases, respiratory diseases, digestive diseases, diabetes, and gynecological diseases.

For treatments, we guarantee the use of high-quality herbs that are authorized by the Chinese Ministry of Health. We also provide decoction services and can help you prepare your herbal medicine prescriptions so that they are fit for consumption. 24-hour translation services are also available.
