Dr. Liu completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering in Taiwan before moving to the United States to complete a Master of Biochemistry degree at Old Dominion University in Virginia. He completed his medical degree and PhD degree in Molecular/Reproductive Biology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Liu completed his residency training at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Liu started his medical career as a staff physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Cleveland, Ohio. He later worked at Saint Luke’s Medical Center, where he served as Director of Gynecological and Endoscopic Surgery as well as the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He then served for one year as the Vice President of Partners in Women’s Health before joining the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he served as Director of Grand Rounds and CME activities of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. From 2004 to 2008, he served as Director of the Women’s Health and Birthing Center of the World Link Medical and Dental Center in Shanghai.

Dr. Liu is a member of numerous academic and professional societies, including the American Medical Association and
American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He is a board-certified physician with the American College of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists. He has served as a senior consultant at the Institute of Reproductive and Child Health at the School of Medicine of Peking University and was appointed as an associate professor in the Urogynecology Division of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as an assistant professor of the University Hospital of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University. He has published articles in several medical journals including the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
