Dr.Liu received  his medical degree (MD) and PhD degree in Molecular/Reproductive Biology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio (U.S.). Dr. Liu completed his residency training at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Liu started his medical career as a staff physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Cleveland, Ohio (U.S.). He later worked at Saint Luke’s Medical Center, where he served as Director of Gynecological and Endoscopic Surgery as well as the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He then served for one year as the Vice President of Partners in Women’s Health (U.S.) before joining The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio (U.S.). At The Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Liu served as Director of Grand Rounds and CME activities of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Dr. Liu is a member of numerous academic and professional societies, including The American Medical Association and The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He is a board-certified physician with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has served as a senior consultant at the Institute of Reproductive and Child Health at the School of Medicine of Peking University and the appointed committee member of the Chinese Uterine and Endometrial Cancer Screening Committee. He  was appointed as an associate professor in the Urogynecology Division of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the associate professor of the University Hospital of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University. He has published articles in several medical journals including the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
