Biography

Dr. Leep Koon Teo is a graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences with a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine degree. He is board certified in pediatrics and in neonatal-perinatal medicine by The American Board of Pediatrics. After medical school he did his pediatric internship and pediatric residency training at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He obtained his medical license in the state of California in 1999. Dr. Teo continued to pursue his fellowship training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine Medical Center and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

During his fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Dr. Teo was involved in ECMO training, experience and training in various newborn respiratory diseases, care for severe prematurity babies, newborns with congenital anomalies, and for various NICU newborn surgical conditions. He also participated in research studies involving mortality with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and Ebstein anomaly. He presented his research and participated in the Annual Western Conference on Perinatal Research and Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Annual Meeting. He is also a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a member of the California Association of Neonatologists.

After his Fellowship he worked as an attending Neonatologist and Pediatrician at the University Medical Center in Nevada where he was involved in critically ill infants, teaching medical students and pediatric residents, and newborn transport medicine.

Dr. Teo is an NPR program instructor in the USA. He had previously worked and obtained his medical license as an attending Neonatologist and physician in various states including Nevada, Virginia, Texas, and Georgia.
