Biography

Dr. Chang received his medical degree from Shanxi Datong University in 1982, and later received a Master’s degree in Neurosurgery in 1991 from Dalian Medical University. In 1997, he received his Doctor degree of Neurosurgery from Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University. In 2002, he received his PhD of Electroneurophysiology from Aalborg University, Denmark.

Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Chang worked in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Xuanwu Hospital, and the 8th Medical Center of PLA General Hospital. Prior to that, he studied and worked overseas for six years, including Aalborg University Hospital in Denmark, UAMS (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) College of Medicine in the US, and York University in Canada.

Dr. Chang has over 30 years of clinical experience. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatments of refractory epilepsy, movement disorders, chronic pain, and brain tumors. He is also experienced in the surgical treatments for medical disorders, tumors of the nervous system, head injury, and cerebrovascular diseases. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chang has received a number of academic awards and has published over 50 papers in prominent medical journals, including Chinese Neurosurgical Journal and the Journal of Neurophysiology.

Dr. Chang is a board member of China Association against Epilepsy (CAAE) and Chinese Neuromodulation Society (CNMS).
