
Signing Ceremony Held for Cooperation between United Family Healthcare and Peking University
May 23, 2014 – The inaugural signing ceremony for the cooperation between United Family Healthcare (UFH) and the Peking University School of Distance Learning for Medical Education was held today at the Peking University Health Science Center. UFH’s Beijing United Family Hospital and Clinics (BJU) is now the first international medical institution to have a partnership with Peking University’s renowned School of Distance Learning for Medical Education. The two parties will be making great efforts together to achieve the highest standards in nursing education, provide resources for international academic publications, more easily accessible client services, and offer a full range of cooperation in many other areas.
In attendance was Ms. Gao Shu Ping, Dean of the Peking University School of Distance Learning for Medical Education, Ms. Sylvia Pan, General Manager of BJU, Mr. Xia Yang, Associate General Manager of Beijing Yi Da Shi Dai, and Ms. Shen Xiao Yan, Chief Nursing Officer of UFH.
“We have maintained a close relationship with Beijing United Family Hospital for many years,” Dean Gao said. “Today, with the signing of this agreement, that relationship has become a stronger, more diverse one that promotes a model of bilateral cooperation.”
Dean Gao also put forward plans for the next step of the school’s collaborative efforts with UFH, in which they will actively coordinate with BJU, customize training modes, and develop courses according hospital and staff needs, as well as create new, innovative models of nurse education.
Ms. Pan said that the signing of the agreement is deeply significant and carries great meaning for both parties. Not only does this cooperation provide UFH nurses with a wonderful learning platform, it is also win-win situation for all parties involved, including students, the school and BJU. Ms. Pan hopes that the School of Distance Learning for Medical Education, as always, will provide the highest standards of education and cultivate top talent for China’s healthcare industry.
Ms. Shen looks forward to further cooperation between the two organizations. In addition to the nursing education program, there will be cooperation in sharing resources of both sides in terms of advanced professional nursing training, nursing research, nursing management and the further exploration of international nursing concepts.
