Dr. Claire Massip received her medical degree in psychiatry and completed her residency at Toulouse Purpan University Hospital in 2017. She also received her doctor of pharmacy degree from Toulouse University in France in 2007.
Her experience includes providing outpatient treatment for patients with anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, and addictions, as well as inpatient treatment to patients with severe mental illnesses such as psychosis and mood disorders.
Dr. Massip’s academic and clinical work has allowed her to develop competence in assessing and supporting families affected by mental health issues; her MD thesis explored the most effective ways to support families with a member who is suffering from schizophrenia.
Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Massip completed training in child and adolescent and family psychopathology, in early child-parent bonding, and in pregnancy- and postpartum-related psychological and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Massip is certified by the EFPE (French School of EMDR Psychotherapy) as an eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. EMDR is a therapy recommended to treat trauma and can be used for other mental health issues. She is also a member of the EMDR France Association.
Dr. Massip strongly believes in the complementarity of medication and psychotherapy in the improvement of mental health.
