Wei LIU

Dr. Liu received her medical degree from Peking Union Medical College in 1997 and completed her residency in 2000 at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, where she developed expertise in managing surgical conditions including general, obstetric and gynecological, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and cardiac and thoracic surgery. Dr. Liu is also skilled in the anesthesia and resuscitation of critically ill patients and even the most complicatedcases.

Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Liu served in the Peking Union Medical College Hospital for 18 years as an anesthesia expert in obstetrics, labor analgesia, neurosurgery, cardiac and thoracic surgery, and intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). In 2011, Dr. Liu was employed as consultant anesthesiologist in Hospital Conde S. Januário of Macau for 16 months.

Dr. Liu has almost 20 years of clinical experience. In addition to specializing in clinical anesthesia and pain management, she also completed a fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology and labor analgesia in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. She also attended TEE training in Cleveland Clinic in the United States. Dr. Liu also had an observership in Mayo Clinic and UC San Diego. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Liu has published several articles in prominent medical journals, including the European Journal of Pain, the Chinese Medical Journal and the Chinese Journal of Anesthesia. She was also the managing editor of the Anesthesia & Analgesia Journal (Chinese Edition) for 8 years.

Dr. Liu is a member of the Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Group, the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology, the Neurosurgery Anesthesia Group, the China Society of Anesthesiology, and the China Division of the World Society of Pain Clinicians (WSPC). Dr. Liu is also the Vice President of the Anesthesia & Analgesia Division of the Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.
