Specialties: Minimally invasive interventional therapy for common congenital heart diseases (patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defect, ductus arteriosus, ventricular septal defect), and especially for difficult and complex patent foramen ovale-related diseases (stroke, migraines, and syncope).

He is currently a Chief Physician at the Structural Heart Disease Center of Fuwai Hospital (Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences), and serves as an outside expert at Beijing United Family Hospital. Dr. Hu is a mentor at the National Health Commission of China for the training of cardiovascular interventional techniques, the Secretary General of the National Structural Heart Disease Center for Standardization of Treatment and Training Institute, the Secretary General of the China Association for the Promotion of Medical Care (CAPMC), an evaluator at the Ministry of Education Degree Evaluation Center, and an expert at the Beijing Municipal Health Commission.

He has engaged in minimally invasive interventional treatment of congenital heart disease for more than 20 years after graduating from Peking Union Medical College with a doctorate degree and has rich surgical experience. He specializes in treatment for congenital heart disease, including: atrial septal defect, patent foramen ovale, ventricular septal defect, arterial ductus arteriosus interventional occlusion, and pulmonary arteriovenous fistula occlusion. As a member of the national expert’s group, he was sent to foreign medical institutions to conduct consultations and teach and supervise surgeries, and has completed nearly 10,000 interventional surgeries. He has published more than 80 scientific and technical papers in Chinese and English, and has obtained one national invention patent and one national utility patent. Dr. Hu has completed multiple scientific research projects for the Ministry of Education and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and participated in many national scientific and technological projects, and won first prize for scientific and technological progress from the Ministry of Education and second prize for scientific and technological progress from the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Associatio
