Diseases of tooth supporting periodontal tissues, such as gingivitis and periodontitis, are significant causes of tooth loss, accounting for nearly half of all tooth loss worldwide. By addressing concerns like gum bleeding, swelling, or redness early, we can work together to protect your oral health, ensuring a confident smile and overall well-being. Last but not least, it is important to emphasize that scientific evidence strongly indicates a significant association between periodontal disease and overall health management, particularly in conditions such as atherosclerosis and diabetes

Education Background

• Graduated from Istanbul University (Turkey) and obtained a dentistry degree in 1999
• Earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Periodontology from Gazi University (Turkey) in 2007, specializing in advanced periodontal disease management, periodontal surgery, and tissue regeneration
• Postdoctoral Fellowships:
• Japan: Okayama University, Okayama (2003–2005)
• Conducted research and training in periodontal disease and regeneration techniques
• Austria: Medical University of Vienna, Bernhard Gottlieb Zahnklinik, Vienna (2011–2015)
• Conducted advanced clinical research in periodontology and implantology

Work Experience

• Professor of Periodontology at Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey; involved in patient treatment, teaching, research, and clinical supervision in periodontology
• Served as Periodontist in private practice, specialized in periodontal therapy, soft/hard tissue regeneration, and implantology
• Postdoctoral Researcher and Fellow, conducted research in periodontal regeneration (Japan & Austria)

• Published over 50 articles and book chapters among them 21 were listed in SCI (h index 15, 2024)
