Mei Hwa Joanne Mei Hwa HNG

Dr. Hng received her medical degree from Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland in 2008, and was later awarded a master’s degree in Emergency Medicine in 2017 from the University of Malaya (Malaysia). Dr. Hng completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru, Malaysia, in 2013, and subsequently completed her fellowship training in Emergency Medicine in 2017.

Dr. Hng joined BJU’s Emergency Medicine Department in March 2022. Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Hng worked as an Emergency Physician in a Level III hospital and trauma center in Malaysia. She has nearly 15 years of clinical experience in emergency airway management, trauma resuscitation, critical care medicine, and prehospital care. Dr. Hng has a great special interest and enthusiasm in Emergency Airway Management education, training, and simulation. She is the Founding Program Director and past president of Clinical Airway Skill Training In Emergency Room (castER) Malaysia, as well as an associate member of Difficult Airway Society (DAS) of the United Kingdom and Safe Airway Society for Australia and New Zealand. She has been invited to give multiple talks and trainings in Malaysia and internationally. Moreover, she is also an associate member of the World Leader Interactive Network Focused On Critical Ultrasound (WINFOCUS).

Dr. Hng is a board-certified Emergency Physician in Malaysia. She is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS).
