Biography

Dr. Li Wei obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Department of Medicine of Peking University in 2001. In 2007, he completed his MD in Clinical Medicine, and a PhD in Molecular Biology, both in the United States. He completed his residency and postdoctoral training in the United States as well. Dr. Li is now director of the Cancer Center of Beijing Tongren Hospital, affiliated to Capital Medical University. Dr. Li Wei specializes in minimally invasive ablation of lung cancer, thyroid cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, head and neck tumors, combined treatment of interventional and medical therapies, and clinical transformation and application of innovative drugs and new treatment. He formerly served as the Director of the Oncology Department at Beijing You’an Hospital and Beijing Ditan Hospital. Dr. Li is fully qualified to practice medicine in the United States and is a member of the American Medical Association. In 2016, he received tumor interventional ablation technology training at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Li Wei is currently member of expert in more than 30 associations, both in China and in US. He has presided over a number of provincial and ministerial/national projects, including “Twelfth Five-Year” major special projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects and Beijing Natural Science Foundation projects. He has published more than 150 papers, including nearly 90 SCI papers and more than 60 SCI papers as the first/corresponding author, with a total impact factor score of about 450. He has won the “Innovative Science and Technology Achievement Award for Top Ten Diseases in the Capital”.
