Biography

Dr. Ding received her Medical Degree from Capital Medical University in 1998 and was later awarded a Master’s Degree in Ophthalmology in 2001, as well as her Doctorate Degree in 2007 from Capital Medical University. From 2008 to 2009, Dr. Ding conducted her clinical postdoctoral research at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. Dr. Ding completed her ophthalmology residency at Beijing Tongren Hospital in 2003, where she rotated through outpatient and inpatient wards and developed expertise in managing conditions ranging from ocular external diseases to posterior segment diseases. She also received training from the Singapore National Eye Centre in vitreoretinal surgery in 2010 and in the diagnosis and treatment of retina diseases in 2017.

Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Ding served in the Ophthalmology Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital as an expert in the vitreous and retina, cataracts, and ocular trauma. She served as an Ophthalmologist at the 21st Universiade Athletes’ Village Eye Clinic and the 28th Beijing Olympic Athletes’ Village Eye Clinic.

Dr. Ding has over 20 years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ding has overseen the Ophthalmology Postgraduate Education Program at Beijing Tongren Hospital for 17 years. She has published 16 papers in prominent medical journals, including Vision Research and Molecular Vision (Mol Vis), and has co-authored four books on Ophthalmology. In 2010, she received a State Natural Science Award issued by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

Dr. Ding is a member of the Chinese Medical Association.
