Biography

Dr. Ghéni Turghun received his medical degree from Xinjiang Medical University in 2008.

In 2014, he received training on minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques, such as video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), at the Herne Thoraxzentrum Ruhrgebiet Klinik für Thoraxchirurgie in Germany.

Dr. Turghun won second place on behalf of the Asian team at the World Thoracic Surgery Clinical Case Competition, held during the 9th European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) “Master Cup,”in Slovenia, Europe in 2018. The same year, he received the advanced minimally invasive surgery scholarship from the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) Graham Foundation.

Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Ghéni Turghun was a thoracic surgeon, serving as an expert on lung nodule screening, lung cancer, benign lung tumors, such as hamartoma and inflammatory pseudotumor, upper gastrointestinal diseases, such as esophageal cancer and esophageal benign tumors, mediastinal diseases such as mediastinal tumor, thymus tumor, and teratoma. He also served as an expert on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of chest wall and pleura diseases, such as chest wall deformities, pigeon chest, funnel chest, tuberculosis, pleural mesothelioma, pleural mass, and chest trauma, such as rib fractures, hemothorax, and pneumothorax.

Dr. Ghéni Turghun has more than ten years of clinical experience in thoracic surgery. In addition to focusing on diagnosis and treatment of thoracic diseases, Dr. Ghéni Turghun has published several academic articles in international medical journals, such as the Journal of Cancer Research and Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Ghéni Turghun is a member of the ESTS, as well as a member of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA), and the Chinese College of Surgeons (CCS).
