Biography

Mr. Jason Tam is from Hong Kong and grew up in the UK. He received his degree in Physiotherapy with honors from the University of Manchester (UK) in 2004. Mr. Jason Tam has a keen interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation for a broad range of people, ranging from office workers to weekend warriors and beyond to the professional athlete. His special interest in sports has guided his direction of continual professional development, leading him to pursue professional certifications in sports rehabilitation, coaching, and dynamic taping.

His involvement with professional athletes includes acting as the sports injury advisor to the medical team at the China Open (tennis) and working with the ATP and ITF tennis players during the tournament annually since 2015. He is also a Titleist Performance Institute- (TPI-) certified golf fitness coach and works with amateur golfers on improving efficiency, thus helping them to prevent overuse injury in the sport.

Before joining BJU, Mr. Jason Tam served as head of rehabilitation at a private hospital in Beijing and Clinic Director at Care for Children’s family services clinic in Beijing. With more than 14 years of experience, he specializes in treating complex musculoskeletal disorders, designing individualized pre- and postoperative (joint replacements, orthopedic surgeries) rehabilitation plans and providing conservative treatment options for all orthopedic/sports-related complaints.

Mr. Jason Tam is a registered physiotherapist, both in Hong Kong and mainland China. He is also certified in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA).

He speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
