• Joined the molecular cardiology department at Wayne State University in Michigan (USA) and focused on the study ofthe L-type calcium channel in cardiac myocytes, publishing her findings in multiple publications
• Recipient of a research fellowship from the American Heart Association from 1997-1998
• Returned to clinical medicine practice in 2002 and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Trenton, New Jersey (USA) in 2005
