Kai ZHANG

Dr. Kai Zhang graduated from Shandong University Medical School. He received his Master’s Degree and completed his residency at The Ministry of Health’s Beijing Hospital in 2010. In 2015, Dr. Zhang received a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council to complete his PhD research on prostate cancer screening and early diagnosis of urological tumors at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands. From 2021-2022, Dr. Zhang got medical registration in Hong Kong, worked as an honored doctor in Prince of Wales Hospital, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and received advanced minimally invasive technique training.
Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Zhang worked at the Peking University Wu Jieping Urology Center. He received intensive fellowship training in Oxford in the UK in 2011. In 2013, Dr. Zhang was invited to a rising stars academic program held in Italy, Belgium, Austria, and Finland on behalf of a Chinese delegation.
Dr. Zhang has extensive experience with urolithiasis, urological infections, benign prostate hyperplasia, early diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of urological tumors, especially prostate cancer.
In addition to his work in clinical urology, Dr. Zhang is also involved in various international and national academic societies. He is the Secretary-General for the Minimally Invasive Surgery Group of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Genitourinary Oncology Committee. He is also a member of the Specialist Urology Registrars Group in UK and an expert reviewer for the World Journal of Urology. Dr. Zhang won first place in a national skills competition for young urologists in 2012. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers in national and international medical journals, with the highest Impact Factor 18.6 (JAMA Surgery, 2023, First author).
