Biography

Ms. Jing Deng received her MA in Clinical Counseling from Palo Alto University (USA). She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is a Registered Hypnotherapist in China Erickson Research Institute, and a contracted counselor for the Asia Pacific region of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS).

Ms. Deng has extensive clinical experience with depression, anxiety, marital conflicts, adjustment issue, and relationship problems. The range of patients she sees covers children, adolescents, and adults, including people with multicultural backgrounds from China and other countries. Her areas of expertise include mood disorders, personality disorders, adjustment difficulties, stress management, interpersonal relationship conflicts, and marital difficulties.

In her practice, Ms. Deng uses psychodynamic psychotherapy as the main orientation, integrating humanism psychology, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and narrative models. She pays special attention to the influence of family background and upbringing on an individual’s behavior and life experience from a multicultural perspective.
