Dr. Guan Heng graduated from Shanghai First Medical College. She did an internship at the Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) Hospital, training in the Medical, Neurology, OB/GYN, Pediatrics and Surgery departments. She completed her residency in the General Surgery Department of the PUMC Hospital.
While at the PUMC Hospital, Dr. Guan later rose to the positions of attending physician and associate professor. When she left PUMC to be a visiting scholar at the Tokyo Medical & Dental University, she had amassed about 25 years of experience. Dr. Guan returned to the PUMC Hospital to work as Professor of the Vascular Surgery Section and Professor of the General Surgery Department. Her last 10 years at PUMC were spent improving the management of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, aortic dissection, lower extremity ischemia, extracranial artery disorder (SSS), venous thrombosis and Budd-Chiari Syndrome.
Dr. Guan has been published more than 50 times in medical journals and has participated in several medical conferences. She is also a member of several societies related to vascular surgery.
