Dr. Chang Wei received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Beijing Language and Cultural University. She then went to the United States and earned a master’s degree in Psychology at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and her doctorate at Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Chang completed her Pre-doctoral Psychology Internship at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., and her Post-doctoral Fellowship at Washington School of Psychiatry.
Dr. Chang has nearly 20 years of clinical experience practicing psychology. Before moving to China in 2006, she had a private practice in psychology and worked as a clinical consultant for hospitals and other organizations in the D.C. area. Dr. Chang has extensive experience working with adults and children as well as with couples and families. Her areas of expertise include mood disorders, personality disorders, stress management, child/adolescent behavioral and developmental disorders, marital and relationship conflicts as well as cross cultural adjustment issues. Dr. Chang strongly believes in the concept of mind-body connection. She is particularly interested in approaches that promote both physical and mental health for individuals.
In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Chang has over 13 years of teaching experience. Before moving to China, Dr. Chang was an Associate Professor in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at Argosy University, Washington, D.C., teaching and training graduate students. She is a licensed psychologist in the District of Columbia and in the State of Maryland. She is a full member of the American Psychological Association.
