Biography

Dr. George Hong Tat Kang is an American-born Chinese who received his Doctorate of Dentistry degree in the United States from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999. Dr. Kang completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program while serving in the United States Navy at Yokosuka, Japan in 2000.

While stationed in Japan, Dr. Kang worked in the Pediatric Dental department focusing on early childhood interventions as well as conscious and general sedation.  As he continued his active duty service at the Pearl Harbor Naval, Dr. Kang was able to spend year-long rotations working one-on-one with Board Certified specialists in the following fields:  Oral Surgery, Endodontics (root canals), Periodontics (bone and gum surgery) as well as Oral Diagnosis.

Before joining UFH, Dr. Kang served as the President of Sunrise Dental, one of the largest dental group practices the United States and owned 4 dental offices while providing specialty care to patients. Such specialty care included: IV Sedation, Pediatric Dentistry (including the use of Nitrous Oxide), Oral Surgery (including wisdom teeth removal), Periodontics (including implant placement), Endodontics (including molar root canals and retreatments) and invisible Orthodontics.

Dr. Kang is a member of the American Dental Association and holds dental licenses in Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, North Carolina and California.

Dr. Kang speaks English,  Indonesian and Mandarin.
