Ms. Jing Deng received her MA in Clinical Counseling from Palo Alto University (USA). She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA). Ms. Deng completed systematic training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance and group therapy training from Irvin Yalom Institute. She has also received training in emotional-focused therapy and hypnotherapy.
Ms. Deng has nearly 10 years of clinical experience practicing counseling. She has extensive experience with depression, anxiety, marital conflicts, and relationship problems. The range of patients she sees covers children, adolescents, and adults, including people with multicultural backgrounds from China and other countries. Her areas of expertise include mood disorders, personality disorders, adjustment difficulties, stress management, relationship conflicts, and marital difficulties.
In her practice, Ms. Deng uses psychodynamic psychotherapy as the main orientation, integrating humanism psychology, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and narrative models. She pays special attention to the influence of family background and upbringing on an individual’s behavior and life experience from a multicultural perspective.
Ms. Deng speaks English and Mandarin.
