CHEN, Jianhai

Dr. Jianhai Chen received his master’s degree following seven years of study of Clinical Medicine at Peking University Medical College in 1994. In 2004, he received his medical degree specializing in Orthopedics from Peking University Medical College. He completed his residency training and orthopedic training at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital and Peking University People’s Hospital.

Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Chen worked in the department of orthopedic trauma at Peking University People’s Hospital since 2004. He is skilled at arthroscopic surgery, such as ACL and PCL reconstruction and revision, meniscus repair, shoulder instability and rotator cuff repair, SLAP repair, AC joint reconstruction, and end tennis elbow debridement. He also has extensive training in treating trauma to the extremities, as well as in performing hand surgery and shoulder and elbow arthroplasty.

Dr. Chen has more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice. He has also received special training in his field. Dr. Chen was awarded a Humboldt University scholarship and finished special training in Sports Medicine and shoulder and elbow surgery at Charite Hospital in Berlin, Germany from September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2010.

Dr. Chen is a member of many medical committees, including the sports medicine and arthroscopy committee of the Chinese Medical Association, the sports medicine youth committee of the Chinese Medical Association, and the shoulder and elbow standing committee of the Chinese division of the International Society of
Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT). He is both a member and secretary of the shoulder and elbow committee of the Chinese Orthopedics Association and the shoulder and elbow committee of the Beijing Orthopedics Association. He is an editor of the Chinese journal of shoulder and elbow and the Chinese journal of orthopedics.

Dr. Chen speaks Mandarin and English.
