Biography

Dr. Roger Tang received his medical degree from The Fourth Army Medical University in 1985, and was later awarded a medical master’s degree in 1990 from Chinese PLA General Hospital. In 1996, he completed three years of postgraduate training at the University of Southern California. Dr. Tang completed his residency in Pediatrics at Chinese PLA General Hospital in 1993, during which time he rotated through inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and ERs developing expertise in managing a diverse range of pediatric conditions. In 2001, Dr. Tang was promoted as Chief Physician at General Hospital of Chinese PLA and professor of Pediatrics at The Post Graduate Medical School of Chinese PLA.

Dr. Tang has 32 years of clinical experience. Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, he served in the Chinese PLA General Hospital Department of Pediatrics. He has much experience in general pediatrics, critical care, and the treatment and diagnosis of hematological diseases. Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Tang held the position of Chair of Pediatrics for eight years. In this role, he was responsible for the medical, academic, research, and administrative activities within the Pediatrics department.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tang also does research and publishing. He is on the editorial committee of the Chinese Journal of Pediatrics and is also currently a member of the Chinese Pediatric Society and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission. Dr. Tang has received four national research grants and has published more than 80 medical papers. In addition, he has three Chinese patents for medical inventions.

Dr. Tang speaks English and Mandarin.
