Bikash RAI

Dr. Bikash Rai graduated from Tian Jin Medical University in 2003 and completed his Master’s Degree and Residency at The Tianjin Medical University General Hospital in 2006. In 2010, He received a full scholarship from the China Scholarship Council to complete his Doctorate (PhD) Degree at Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from 2010 to 2013.

Dr. Rai has over 10 years of clinical experience in general surgery. Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, Dr. Rai worked in the Department of General Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences Bir Hospital and the Jana Unity Life Hospital as senior attending surgeon. He also completed a clinical fellowship in thoracic surgery at the Capital Medical University Xuanwu Hospital Department of Thoracic Surgery and Lung Cancer Center.

At Beijing United Family Hospital, he worked as assistant in surgeries with Dr. Zhang Bin, head and neck surgeon from Peking University Cancer Hospital and completed more than 120 cases of robotic surgery for thyroid carcinoma and oropharyngeal carcinoma. The team conducts robotic assisted surgery through 4 approaches, including the innovative transoral resection of thyroid cancer. Till now, the team has completed around 40 cases of robotic assisted transoral resection of thyroid cancer surgery and published Transoral Robotic thyroidectomy: A Preliminary Report of 5 Cases in China in the August 2018 issue of the China Journal of Laparoscopic Surgery and published another paper Retroauricular Robotic Thyroidectomy: a Preliminary Report of 5 Cases in the China Journal Otorhinolaryngol, Head Neck Surgery in 2020.
